Mocha Cyclone – According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Mocha Cyclone is expected to hit the coasts of southeast Bangladesh and northern Myanmar on 14 May 2023. It is predicted to be an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm with maximum sustained wind speed reaching 170-180 kmph gusting to 200 kmph. 

The storm is likely to intensify into a super cyclone. A super cyclone occurs when the maximum sustained wind exceeds 221 kmph.

Mocha Cyclone

Mocha Cyclone is currently a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm which is showing frequent changes in its wind speed. In a bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, it was said that the storm would attain a maximum sustained wind speed of 200-210 kmph with a wind speed of around 230 kmph. 

The landfall speed has been estimated to be around 170-180 kmph with wind speed reaching around 200 kmph.
